BURGER KING®, the second largest fast food hamburger chain in the world has opened its first restaurant in Kenya’s capital, Nairobi, located at The Hub Shopping Mall in Karen, on Monday.

The first Kenyan outlet will add to the chain’s presence in Africa, which currently has locations in Egypt, Morocco, South Africa, and Ivory Coast.

The restaurant will be independently owned and operated through a franchise agreement with NAS Airport Services Limited, a subsidiary of Servair, the third largest airline catering and logistics business globally and the category’s leader on the African continent.

The fast food chain has been serving guests for more than 60 years. But will Kenyans enjoy the menu of flame-grilled offerings, including the WHOPPER® sandwich, the brand’s flagship product?

Founded in 1954, the BURGER KING® brand is the second largest fast food hamburger chain in the world. The chain operates 15,000 locations in more than 100 countries.
